How to Optimise your eBay Listings

Optimised Listings Sell More Over Time

I don’t know how many items you sell on eBay, but if it’s not small then this may seriously benefit your business over time. The Free eBay template is a great way to improve your general eBay listings, but for the best results, you need to make your eBay listings as optimised as possible. Optimised listings will convert more prospects into paying customers over time and drive more sales to your business. Hence why I built the Pro eBay Template – a solution only for the very best sellers.

Here are some problems the pro template solves that the free template doesn’t:

#1 – Reduced Scrolling

Many prospects don’t scroll down the page far enough to see enough details. The Rollover Image Gallery and Attention Hooks exhibit the main features before having to scroll down, before the prospect loses interest and bounces. Displaying images together reduces the amount prospects need to scroll, rather than having them on separate lines.

The area before scrolling is known as ‘above the fold’, and as a web developer, I understand the importance of emphasising this area!

#2 – ‘Hooking’ Prospects

As mentioned in my previous emails, you don’t have much time to entice prospects to your offer. The best way is to list a summary of the key value drivers to your product. The pro template allows this and will capture prospects’ attention before it’s too late.

This is a very effective strategy used by the likes of Amazon – just view any Amazon product page and you’ll discover that it’s virtually the same!

#3 – Optimised Mobile Viewing

The free version has 1 header image that scales down when viewed on mobile devices, making it difficult to see. The pro version has an additional ‘mobile’ header image that’s optimised for mobiles. Your prospects will be able to identify your brand more clearly and will perceive you as more professional.

Like I said before, a lot of shopping is now done on mobiles.

#4 – Search Engine Rankings

From the outset of HTML5, new ‘semantic’ elements affect the way search engines perceive and rank web pages. The pro template features semantic tags in the code to help boost its presence in search engines. Simply put: more traffic means more sales.

#5 – Speed

Prospects will be able to access information more easily and quickly thanks to the rollover thumbs on the image gallery. The main features of a sale page prospects pay attention to are images, and being able to just roll your cursor over a thumb to see all images gives them fast access to information that provides answers to their questions.

Remember that the longer you continue to use a sub-optimal template means the more it’ll cost you in lost sales. Anyway, I hope this has given you an insight into how prospects view web pages and that the template may be able to help.
